Obudu Mountain Resort is an extraordinary mountain with mysterious features. Some of the natural attractions you see on the mountain cannot be seen anywhere in Nigeria or the world at large. The weather condition there is unpredictable it changes every time. It can be sunny now, next minute the clouds start to drop, next minute it’s drizzling, next minute it’s so misty you can’t see. It’s generally cold all the time.
The Obudu mountain resort has attractions ranging from a mini waterfall, tree house, canopy walkway, natural swimming pool, cable cab, etc. Of all these attractions, there is one that stands out and it is called the Holy Mountain. The holy mountain was discovered many years ago by the missionaries that go there for prayers.
A lot of things have been said about the holy mountain. Some believe especially the locals that praying on the mountain is the easiest way to hear from God. They also believe that all prayers and supplication rendered on the mountain will be answered. Rumour has it that when the former president of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, won the 2011 presidential election, he ran to the Holy Mountain, Obudu mountain resort. I guess for prayers, Thanksgiving or something similar to that.
Getting there
Flight:
There is no direct flight to Obudu Mountain Resort. However, tourists have to stop at Margret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar then takes a taxi to Obudu. The major airlines that fly to Calabar are Air Peace and Arik.

Road:
Depend on your location, you can either pass through Ebonyi or Benue to Obudu Mountain Resort. Both states have a common boundary with Local Government Area where Obudu Mountain resort is located.
Getting To The Top
There are two ways of getting to the mountaintop. First is through cab or bike. Cab or bike will take you through the 22 bends. It’s fun and sometimes scary to pass through the road. The second mode of transportation is cable cab.
What to do
Generally, the Obudu Mountain Resort is a perfect place for vacationers and tourists. The holy mountain is not like any other mountain, there are some specific things tourists can do there to enhance their experience.
Prayer
Like as early stated, the holy mountain is a place to pray as many believe all prayers are answered. BBNaija star, Tboss, was in Obudu Mountain Resort couple of months ago for a movie shoot. In one of the days she was not scheduled to film, she decided to have a date with God. From the experience she shared on her Instagram, she said she saw something in Celestial form. It was in the form of The Blessed Virgin Mary and heaven gate and pathway. She was glad to send her prayers to God.
Quiet time
Where else would you like to have a quiet time if not at the Holy Mountain? The place is quiet, calm and can allow you to concentrate. Nollywood actress, Nancy Isime, said, I decided to (with the help of a tour guide) go up the “Holy Mountain” for some Me time. The best I’ve had in a long time!
Sightseeing
Apart from the religious activities and quiet time, the next thing tourist can do at the Holy Mountain is sightseeing. The holy mountain is unarguably the perfect place to see Obudu and its beauty. You can see the Nigeria and Cameroon border very clear from the mountain. You can also see how the mini waterfall descends from the source. These and more like bird watching are the things one can do on the mountain.
