Azman Air legal team is set to sue Sahara Reporters over the report the media published on their website concerning the airline. Sahara reporters on Monday, 24 September, reported that Azman Air flight QZ 2332 almost ran out of fuel after hovering over the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja Airspace for over one hour.
The Abuja bound flight departed Kano airport at 1:20 with about 60 passengers and was expected to land Nnamdi Azikwe International, Airport, Abuja at 2:05 but the plane was prevented from landing due to some military planes on special operation at the airport.
According to Sahara Reporters, the flight finally landed without clearance from the control tower after complaining of fuel shortage.
Air Azman in a swift response to the report, described it as untrue and misleading. Azman said the report was an attempt to damage their reputation and will not be handled lightly as their legal team is already working to sue the Sahara Reporters.
According to a press statement released by Azman Air, their flight with the registration number ZQ2332 was among the aircraft held in the Abuja airspace.
Azman Aircrew informed the passengers of these developments accordingly to surmount panic in the cabin. After been held for 45 minutes, our experienced crew already diverted back to Kano when they were informed that the terminal is now open, and they cleared for landing which was done smoothly and safely.
This is to notify the General public that the information in this report is untrue and misleading. This is just a scheme by this source to get the attention of the public. This is defamatory to what we represent and will not be handled lightly. #FlySafeFlyAzman
