After the Federal Government and Ethiopian Airlines denied knowledge of the Nigeria Air launch, Nnolim Nnaji, chairman of the House Committee on Aviation, proclaimed Nigeria Air’s launch to be a scam.
Nigeria Air according to the Ministry of Aviation, was just a presentation and not an official launch.
According to Punch, the House Committee on Aviation members were astounded when the managing Director of Nigeria Air, Captain Dayo Olumide, revealed that the plane with the Nigeria Air inscription was on a chartered journey to Nigeria from Ethiopia.
Captain Dayo Olumide, who was hired in February 2022 to secure the air operating certificate of Nigeria Air, added that the Muhamadu Buhari administration arranged for an aircraft from Ethiopia to be chartered for a brief period in order to exhibit the Nigeria Air logo to Nigerians and shareholders.
