One of the best airlines in the world, Qatar Airways has expanded its flight operations in Nigeria with the addition of flights services from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano and Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt.
With this addition of Port Harcourt and Kano to Lagos and Abuja, the airline now has 4 airports in Nigeria that operate flights from to other parts of the world. This new addition will bring the total number of flights operated by the airline in the 28 destinations across Africa to 188 weekly flights.
The inaugural flight from Doha to Kano was welcome with the traditional water cannon on March 2, 2022. The Nigerian Ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency, Mr Ahmed Yakubu Abdullahi, Kano state government officials and indigenes of Kano was in attendance during the inaugural flight.
The Qatar Airways inaugural flight was on March 3, 2022, at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt. The flight from Doha airport to Port Harcourt International Airport was welcomed with the traditional water salute and a warm reception.
Qatar Airways will operate flights from Doha to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano 4 times a week while flights to Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt will be 3 times a week.
Nigeria has become the most connected African market in the @qatarairways network as the launch of Port Harcourt takes us to four destinations in the country. With this new route, we now operate 188 weekly flights serving 28 destinations across Africa.
