President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has slashed both local and international travel expenses for government officials. The new directive is part of the president’s cost-cutting measures. According to the Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, The office of the President, Vice President, First Lady, Ministers and heads of agencies are all affected by this new travel entourage expenses.
Below are now the number of persons allowed to travel with the president, vice president, first lady, ministers and chief executives officers for both local and international trips.
Foreign Trips
1. President: 20 persons
2. Vice President: 5 persons
3. First Lady: 5 persons
4. Ministers: 4 persons
5. Chief Executive Officers: 2 persons
Local Trips
1. President: 25 persons
2. Vice President: 15 persons
3. First lady: 10 persons
Tinubu has said he would no longer travel with huge security delegations to any state. If the president travels to any state, the security in the state would take care of his safety and the same applies to the vice-president and other government officials.
