The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR; has commissioned the remodelled Niger State airport.
President Bola Tinubu was accompanied to the airport commissioning ceremony by the Executive Governor of Niger State, His Excellency, Mohammed Umaru Bago in the company of the Executive Governors of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kwara State, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq; Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr Hyacinth Alea; Kogi State, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo; The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku and other dignitaries.
Minna International Airport was renamed after the President as, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna.” The airport is billed to serve as an alternative airport to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The state government is in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to transform the airport into a transportation hub through the construction of cargo and international terminals within 12 months.
