Nigeria joined the rest of the world on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, to celebrate World Agritourism Day. Stakeholders in the tourism and agriculture sectors gathered at the Office of The Secretary General of the Federation hall to commemorate the day.
This year’s world agritourism day celebration in Nigeria was the inaugural ceremony. The chairman/CEO of Nigeria Agritourism village project initiative, Arc Trust Henry Ogboi was selected as the convener of World Agritourism Nigeria.
In his remark, Arc Trust, thanked the president of Nigeria, Muhammed Buhari for his support, encouragement, devotion and encouragement to achieve this noble initiative. He also thanked all the stakeholders in agritourism for food security. Mr Trust Henry promised to work with all stakeholders in both tourism and agriculture to grow agritourism in Nigeria.
Representatives from the embassies, the Ministry of Information and Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Nigeria youth service corp all support and build agritourism in Nigeria.
Agritourism is a day set aside to promote Agritourism. The day aims to educate the tourists on how agricultural activities are done on farms. It’s an annual event observed all over the world on 16th May.
