After 46 days, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) clears Azman Air to resume flights operations. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended Azman Air on 15 of March over safety-related issues.
Why Azman AirWas Suspended By NCAA
It was recorded that the Azman Air Boeing 737 aircraft had 3 incidents within 6 weeks. The incidents coursed damages to the aircraft although; there was no loss of life.
The other issues that led to the Azman Air flight suspension are when the airline maintenance engineer was caught working on the aircraft right-hand main landing gear wheel assembly (3 and 4) without referring to Boeing’s maintenance manual.
The other day, Azman Air Kaduna International Airport (KAD) to Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS), Lagos bound flight heat shield fell off. Azman Air flight also had a tire failure.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Action Against Azman
These safety issues were the reason Azman Air aircraft were mandated to undergo a thorough safety audit.
“The suspension is to enable the authority to conduct an audit of the airline to determine the root causes of the incidents, and recommend corrective actions,” NCAA said.
Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Lifts The Suspension
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in a statement made available to the public, states that Azman Air suspension is lifted after undergoing the comprehensive recommended by the authority.
In this regard, having satisfactorily undergone the safety audit and implemented the corrective action plan as recommended by the regulatory body, we are pleased to inform the general public that the suspension is hereby lifted.
We can assure the general public that it is the beginning of a new experience. We remain committed to raising the standard when it comes to the safety of the crew, equipment and passengers. It stated.
In response to the ban lift, Azman Air thanked the Director-general NCAA, Capt Musa Nuhu, Minister of Aviation, Alh Hadi Sirika and all the customers for their support.
Azman Air also noted that Flight Schedule will be rolled out shortly. The airline did not state when the flight schedule will available.
