One of the Nigeria’s domestic airlines, Medview airlines has declared its readiness to resume direct flight services originating from Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos to Dubai starting from July 4, 2017, to cater for many Nigerians traveling to Dubai either for holidays or business.
This was made known on Tuesday by Alhaji Muneer Bankole, the Chief Executive Officer of the airline. He said that the airline had secured the necessary permit from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Dubai.
“We will be honest to tell you that, Dubai has been on the front burner for a couple of months; the rule of the game is that you need to have what it takes.
“We have submitted the details, worked around the CAA, have gotten the permit, put the employees on the ground and now we’re ready to open up the route.
Mr. Bankole further disclosed that the Med-View Lagos – Dubai services will, for now, operate twice a week – Tuesdays and Saturdays. In addition to the number of aircraft in their fleet, Medview Airlines would take delivery of two (2) more aircraft – a Boeing 777 and Boeing 737-800
The Chief Executive Officer of the Company also announced that they would increase frequency to London as well as commencing services to the Francophone countries of Cote’ de Ivoire, Guinea, and Senegal.
Recall that Emirates airline is the only airline in Nigeria that operates a direct flight from Lagos to Dubai. The other two airlines, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways have one stopover at Qatar and Abu Dhabi respectively before going to Dubai.
