In the case of Nigeria passengers, Emirates asked all passengers to conduct a rapid diagnostic test (RDT) at the airports in Lagos and Abuja 4 hours before flight departure. Emirates proposed this rapid diagnostic test (RDT) due to the high number of fake covid-19 results produce by travellers from Nigeria.
This rapid diagnostic test (RDT) proposal was not accepted by the Nigerian government and they asked emirates to suspend flight operations. On the 18th of March, 2021, Emirates suspended flight to and from Nigeria until further notice.
Since the flight suspension, negotiation has been going on between the Nigerian government authorities and the United Arab Emirates authorities.
