Emirates to Resume Flight from Nigeria to Dubai on June 23

Emirates has confirmed that they will resume flights operation from Nigeria, South Africa and India starting from June 23, 2021. This is coming after the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management announced ease of inbound travel restrictions.

The Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management on Saturday announced the new travel protocol for inbound travel from Nigeria, South Africa and India. The new rule is set to take effect from June 23, 2021.

Headed by @sheikhmansoor, the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in #Dubai announces updates to Dubai’s travel protocols for inbound passengers from South Africa, Nigeria and India, effective from Wednesday 23 June 2021.

The New Travel Rules 

  • Passengers must have received a negative test result for a PCR test taken within 48 hours before departure; UAE citizens exempted.
  • Passengers should present a negative PCR test certificate with a QR Code from labs approved by the Nigerian government. 
  • All passengers must undergo a PCR test on arrival at Dubai Airport.
  • Transit passengers should comply with entry protocols of final destinations.

Emirates Airlines to resume flight from June 23, 2021

Emirates Airlines in a series of tweets commended Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management for easing the travel restrictions. The airline also said that they will resume flight from June 23.

Emirates welcomes the latest protocols and measures announced by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management to allow the safe resumption of passenger travel from South Africa, Nigeria and India to Dubai. 

We look forward to facilitating travel from these countries and supporting various travellers’ categories. We will resume carrying passengers from South Africa, Nigeria and India in accordance with these protocols from 23 June. 

We thank the Supreme Committee for their continuous efforts in monitoring the development of the situation and announcing the appropriate guidelines and protocols to protect the community and safeguard the travel sector.

Recall that the United Arab Emirate authorities suspended all flight from Nigeria to Dubai since February 2021. For now, we are monitoring other airlines to know when they will resume flight operations to Dubai. As soon as they are updated by the airlines, we will let you know.
