Sadly, Emirates has suspended flights to and from Nigeria Until further notice. Emirates recently extended their flight suspension from Nigeria by 10 days from March 10, 2021, to March 20, 2021. This recent announcement means that the proposed flight resumption on March 20, 2021, will not hold unless there is an agreement between the two authorities.
In a statement made available to the general public, Emirates announced that customers travelling to and from Lagos and Abuja will not be accepted for travel. The carrier also advice affected passengers to contact their travel agent or Emirates call centre for rebooking.
In line with government directives, passenger flights to and from Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja) are suspended with effect from 18 March 2021 until further notice.
Customers travelling to and from Lagos and Abuja will not be accepted for travel.
We regret the inconvenience caused, and affected customers should contact their booking agent or Emirates call centre for rebooking. Emirates remains committed to Nigeria, and we look forward to resuming passenger services when conditions allow.
Emirates Update
We believe this recent flight suspension till further notice is in response to the Nigeria government Emirates flight ban. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced during the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 weekly briefing that the government has ban Emirates from operating in Nigeria.
This will be the second time the Nigerian government is banning the Emirates Airline in 2021.
On Wednesday, Emirates confirm talks with the Nigeria government over the flight Ban. We hope things will return to normal as soon as possible.
