Dear Travelers, we have the good news you have been waiting for. Your Emirates Airlines has resume flight operations into and out of Nigeria starting from 9th October 2020.
Initially, Emirates was among the list of airlines approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to operate international flights into and out of Nigeria. The decision was later reversed by the Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, after a meeting of the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19.
“The PTF subcommittee met today with EU Ambassadors to discuss Lufthansa, Air France/KLM ban. The meeting progressed well. Emirates Airlines’s situation was reviewed & they are consequently included in the list of those not approved, with effect from Monday the 21st Sept. 2020,” the minister wrote.
After reaching an agreement with the authorities of the United Arab Emirates, Emirates Airlines flight operations into and out of Nigeria has been approved by the Nigerian government.
As part of the agreement, the United Arab Emirates will start visa issuance to Nigerians starting from 8th October 2020.
