The Dubai airline, Emirates Airlines has extended Nigeria to Dubai flight scheduled to resume on 19 September 2021. According to Emirates, the flight operations from Nigeria to Dubai will now resume on 30 September 2021.
According to the statement released by Emirates, all passengers that have been to or connect through Nigeria in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter the United Arab Emirates. Also, all tickets booked has been cancelled.
Emirates’ flights to and from Nigeria will remain suspended until 30 September 2021. Customers who have been to or connected through Nigeria in the last 14 days will not be permitted on any Emirates flights bound for Dubai. Affected flight bookings have been cancelled.
According to Khaleej Times, the Emirates frequent date change is connected to the lack of Rapid PCR test facilities at the airports in Nigeria.
According to the news website, the absence of test facilities at the airport is the reason Nigeria is not among the 6 countries allowed to carry tourists and residents to the United Arab Emirates.
Recall that the Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sariki, said during the presidential committee on covid-19 said that it does not make scientific sense for a passenger to do a covid-19 PCR test, 4 hours Rapid test and another Covid-19 test again at Dubai Airport.
