In other to show concern and win customers continued patronage, Emirates has extended the ticket validity period from 1 year to 3 years. Coronavirus as you already know has changed the traditional method of travelling in the world.
Many travellers flight ticket expired even before they used them. It won’t make any sense if the airline refused to change the ticket because the customer was unable to use it.
Currently, there is no flight operation between Nigeria and the United Area Emirate due to the disagreement over the type of covid-19 test and travel requirement between the two countries. If this issue lingers or continue, many customers ticket will expire since ticket validity is just 1 year.
Emirates is offering 2 options to all those that their ticket was affected by the flight suspension.
Option 1: Refund
If you feel like there is no need to travel again maybe your reason for travelling is not there again like attending a conference or the event has passed. You can request a refund. In this case, you may get a full refund.
Option 2: Keep the ticket and travel later.
If you still want to travel, you don’t need to worry even if your travel date has passed. Emirates has extended the ticket expiring date from 1 year to 3 years. Normally, the ticket supposed to expire after one year but now, your ticket will be open and valid for 3 years.
- For tickets issued on or before 30 September 2020, with a travel date on/before 31 December 2021, Emirates has extended the ticket validity for 36 months from the date of your original booking.
- For tickets issued on or after 1 October 2020 with a travel date on/before 31 December 2021, Emirates has extended the ticket validity for 36 months from the date of your original booking.
How to change your Flight Ticket.
If you book through a travel agent, just return to the agent with a new date. The agent will change your ticket at no extra cost.
If you book with the airline directly, you can contact them for a change or contact us to assist you with the flight change.
Are there any change fees?
The good news here is, if your ticket was affected by the flight suspension, you have the opportunity to change your ticket at no extra cost. There is no change fee for you when you want to change/rebook your ticket.
