Emirates Airlines on Wednesday confirmed that they have held talks with relevant regulators and authorities in Nigeria over the Dubai flight Ban. Emirates spokesperson said that the airline is fully committed to resolving the issues concerning flight suspension.
“Emirates remains in close dialogue with the relevant regulators and authorities in Nigeria and we are fully committed to making progress on a resolution to ensure the continuation and expansion of our operations,” an airline spokesperson told Sagetravels.
The airline spokesperson also noted that the customers and employees health and safety is of paramount importance.
“Our highest priority continues to be the health and safety of our customers, employees, and the communities we serve both in Nigeria and across our network,” the spokesperson added.
Recall that Emirates Airlines extended its flight from Nigeria suspension till March 20, 2021. After the Nigerian government suspend Emirates flights to Nigeria on Wednesday, the airline moved the March 20, 2021 flight resumption till further notice.
Before this suspension, Emirates operated flights from Dubai to Abuja and Lagos Nigeria as per schedule whereas Passengers who have been to or connected through Nigeria in the last 14 days were not allowed entry into Dubai, whether terminating their journey in or connecting through Dubai.
On Wednesday, Nigeria Government suspended Emirates Airlines flight. The suspension is in response to the Emirates’ policy of bringing passengers into Nigeria and not flying passengers from Nigeria to Dubai.
Sagetravels is closely monitoring the situation and we will not fail to notify the general public as soon as there is a new development concerning flights from Nigeria to the United Arab Emirates.
