Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu will be temporarily shut down this month as the federal government has concluded plans to start repair work on the runway.
From the information obtained by sagetravels.com, the airport will be closed from 3 pm daily 14th December to 21st December 2017. After 6 days of reopening, the airport will be closed again from 27th December 2017 and reopen on 4th January 2018.
During the maintenance period, all passengers and flight operations to Akanu Ibiam International airport, Enugu will be redirected to Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri or Portharcourt International Airport, Portharcourt.
All airlines servicing the airport have been informed to direct their flight operation to Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri or Portharcourt International Airport pending when the airport is fixed and good for use.
