Air peace was among the test flights that landed at Anambra State international passenger/cargo airport, Umueri. There were 3 aircraft that landed at the airport. Two of the aircraft belong to Air Peace while the other one that made it 3 aircraft is a private jet mark 5N-EZU.
The first Air Peace aircraft Boeing 737 with registration number N5 BUJ landed at 2:26 pm and the second aircraft Embraer 145 landed at 2:26 pm.
Anambra state Governor Wilie Obiano praised Air Peace CEO, Allen Onyema for volunteering to use his aircraft for the test run at no cost to the state. Gov. Obiano said the state did not borrow a kobo to construct the airport. The airport is the most audacious project and the most remarkable of all Gov. Willie projects.
We waited patiently for this day and it is sunrise in Anambra today. We began this project in January 2020 when COVID-19 was adversely affecting the economies of every state, nation, and the world over. We were able to start and by the grace of God we are here to witness this historic event,” he said.
This Anambra airport is about the best in Africa in terms of the facilities we have here,” he said.
Our brother, Allen Onyema volunteered the aircraft for this air landing testing at no cost to us.
The construction of the airport lasted for 15 months. The project began in December 2020 and the major work started in January 2021. Despite the covid-19 lockdown, work was seriously going on at the airport site.
We hope Air Peace and others will start flight operations here soon.
Congratulations to Ndi Anambra.
