Air Peace has become the first airline to start commercial flight services to the newly commissioned Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri.
Air Peace’s spokesperson, Stanley Olisa, in a press statement issued on Saturday disclosed that the flights to Anambra will resume on Tuesday 7th December 2021. This will enable Ndi Anambra and others to return home during the Christmas period.
According to the airline’s spokesperson, the airline will operate four (4) times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursday s, Saturdays and Sundays) until when the traffic increase.
For a start, the airline will fly from Lagos Airport and Abuja Airport to Anambra Airport. The airline also plans to operate from Anambra to other states like Ibadan, Port Harcourt and Kano state in 2022.
Olisa said, “This is great news for the people of Anambra State as we are launching four flights weekly into the new airport on Tuesday. For a start, we shall be operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and as operations gather momentum; we shall increase frequencies to daily flights”.
“By the end of January 2022, we will have commenced the following connections: Anambra-Kano-Anambra, Anambra-Ibadan-Anambra and Anambra-Port Harcourt-Anambra. Air Peace is unwaveringly determined to interconnect Nigeria, providing connections which facilitate seamless economic exchanges and foster unity.”
Recall that the airline has a “No City Left Behind” agenda. The airline plans to connect all the cities in Nigeria. Currently, Air Peace has flights from Benin to Port Harcourt and Asaba to Kano state.
A check on the airline website by Sagetravels reviews that the flight tickets are already on sale. The price of the economy tickets goes from NGN 23,000 to NGN 60,000 one-way. The price changes according to seat availability.
