Ushafa Pottery Center x Usman Dam
The best place to start your day in Abuja is the Ushafa Pottery center also known as bill Clinton village. Ushafa pottery center is located at Bwari area council which is 45 Km away from Abuja city center. Apart from the range of products made at the center, Ushafa village people are another major tourist attraction in Abuja. Just like the Maasai People in Kenya, Ushafa village is where tourists can visit to see the first inhabitant of the federal capital tertiary and also experience the people’s tradition, custom, lifestyle, belief and culture.
As you are returning from Ushafa pottery, you can stopover at Usman dam to have a better view of a manmade dam. Believe me, unless someone tells you that this dam is manmade you will not know. The dam is clean and neat. You can also take a boat ride around the dam.
Then: Lunch
BluCabana
It’s lunchtime!!! You must be exhausted after exploring Ushafa pottery center and Usman dam. Therefore, there is need to eat because that are so many places to explore. One of the perfect places to lunch out in Abuja is BluCabana. I don’t know why I chose BluCabana maybe because of the wide range of dishes both Nigerian and intercontinental on their menu. BluCabana is located in Mabushi District, Abuja.

Jabi Lake and Mall
After lunch, the next destination to visit is the Jabi lake park and mall located in Jabi district. Jabi lake is a natural lake that has breath-taking ambience. Jabi Lake offers beach-like experience and activities like boat ride, canoe ride, and other water sports. If you are the type that does not like water, you can enjoy a horse ride at the park.
After engaging in some recreational activities, you can walk into the mall to see a movie or for shopping. The mall is located exactly where the lake is. Feel free to sample the latest trend in fashion, technology and other brands.
Lastly: Dinner x Tour
The Thought Art Pyramid Center x Spice Platter
I selected the thought pyramid center and spice platter because its one of the places in Abuja where you have both attraction and a restaurant together.
The Thought Art Pyramid Center
The thought art pyramid is the perfect place for contemporary art lovers. The Thought Pyramid Art Centre is a one-storey building, located at No 18 Libreville Street, Off Amino Kano Crescent, Wuse II. The few years old art gallery has awesome and original artworks from different artist and they are worth appreciating.
Spice Platter
The spice platter is a restaurant attached to The Thought Art Pyramid Center. It is in the same building as the art gallery so there is nothing to be worried about. The spice platter has both continental and Nigerian dishes on their menu. The restaurant interior décor blends with that of the gallery. The atmosphere at the outside dining area is superb. The customer service from the receptionist to the waiters and barman is remarkable. The Art and food collabo at the Thought Art Pyramid center is simply incredible.
I’m just wondering what one would be looking for on a day trip to Abuja? Always explore everything a destination has to offer. Happy Exploring!
